The project aims to the establishment of a new MSc programme in Sustainable Food Production Systems (STEPS). The programme will offer knowledge of engineering and management topics that affect the transition to such systems as well as of the technological achievements that support this transition. The consortium is a balanced partnership, capable of designing, developing and delivering a blend of courses addressing food production systems from technical, economic, social and political perspectives. It has established a large network with stakeholders that ensures the relevance of the STEPS programme and has a strong willingness to lead the social and economic development of Western Balkans.

The MSc Programme will address interdisciplinary and interdependent topics, related to a cost effective, environmentally friendly and socially accepted food production of high quality. The proposed MSc programme will offer fundamental knowledge of food production systems through the delivery of core courses. Two groups of courses will be then offered to students, in order to deliver advanced knowledge of food engineering, quality and safety as well as logistics, economics and environmental management of food production systems.

The project is being implemented trough the joint efforts of several universities in the Western Balkans countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Kosovo) and partner universities in the EU members’ states (Greece, Czech Republic, Romania).
