The Schorlemer Foundation, with over 40 years of experience in international agricultural exchange programs, is expanding its internship program to include participants from the Western Balkans region. Particularly the following countries: Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, and Moldova. We are specifically seeking to establish partnerships with respected agricultural institutions like yours to create meaningful opportunities for young professionals in agriculture.
Program Overview:
- Paid professional internships on German agricultural enterprises
- Duration: 3 to 12 months
- Available positions in various agricultural sectors including crop farming, animal husbandry, horticulture, and viticulture
- Financial support of up to €600 per participant (subject to eligibility requirements, see below)
- Financial compensation according to German internship regulations
- Comprehensive support including assistance with visa procedures and insurance
- Special annual seminar providing insights into German agriculture
- Professional mentoring throughout the internship

Special Focus on Mandatory Internships:
While our program is open to all qualified candidates, we offer particular advantages for students who need to complete mandatory internships as part of their curriculum. These internships can be arranged with special consideration of academic requirements and documentation needs.
Participant Requirements:
- Age: 20-30 years
- Agricultural qualification through EITHER:
• Completion of at least 4 semesters in an agricultural degree program AND minimum 6 months of practical experience
OR
• Completed vocational training in agriculture comparable to German standards (multi-year program with both theoretical and practical components)
- Basic German language skills or strong willingness to learn
- High motivation and interest in German agriculture
Support Package:
- Individual consultation and placement service
- Assistance with visa and insurance procedures
- Access to our network of certified host farms
- Ongoing support during the internship
- Participation in our international agricultural seminar
- Financial support (up to €600 per participant, one-time payment after departure to Germany, amount depends on the total number of participants in 2025)
