Organized by the Faculty of Agriculture and Food in Sarajevo and the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a seminar on ways of construction and football pitches maintenance methods was held today.
The seminar was held in the premises of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food, and the opening speeches were opened by the institution’s dean Muhamed Brka and FF BH general secretary Adnan Džemidžić.
The lecturers at the seminar were M.Sc. Agri. Bojan Jovanović, M.Sc. Agri. Barbara Zanelli, B.Sc. Agri- Benjamin Imamović and B.Sc. Agri. Gorazd Nastran and discussed the topics “Modern methods of construction of football fields”, “Planning and construction of a modern sports field at the Grbavica Stadium”, “Maintenance of sports lawns” and "Ways to maintain and prepare football fields in the English Premier League”.
Director of the FF BH Administration Sector Nihad Hodžić said about this event:
“The aim of this seminar is to advance education in the field of football field maintenance. It is a well-known fact that the pitches in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not at the level we would like them to be, and they are not even close to what we see in Europe. The essence of the quality of a football pitch is not so much in the construction method as it is the maintenance method”, Hodžić says, and continues:
“Since we have lost knowledge of field maintenance in recent years in B&H, the FF BH, in cooperation with the Faculty of Agriculture and Food in Sarajevo, is organizing a seminar with the aim of involving as many students of this faculty and workers in this issue as possible, working to maintain the pitches within the BH Telecom Premier League clubs.”
Agricultural students from all over B&H participated in this seminar, as well as representatives of the clubs of our elite football competition.
